updates for the past 2 days..

woke up ard 7 to go to NP for the dikir comp, Piala Khatulistiwa.. meetup wif dearie for breakfast at 10 and then went to the library.. really missed skewl and wished i was still studying.. the library went thru a complete 'makeover'! the students a re really very lucky.. and too bad we missed it.. boo..

dearie went home after i met up with asmin, shub and jasman.. thanx darling for accompanying me.. so sweet of him.. tired after coming home from an 8-hour shift and still managed to go out with me.. *beams*

so, we got complimentary tix for the event since we used to be a part of Adiratna.. went in and got seated ard 11.. the event officially started 45 mins later..

the first part of the show was kinda bland.. there were 14 groups that performed altogether.. they were ITE Yishun, ITE Ang Mo Kio, ITE Tampines, Serangoon JC, West Spring Sec, Tampines Sec, Marsiling Sec, CHIJ Katong Convent, Hai Sing Catholic, Yuying Sec, Singapore Poly, Temasek Poly (Female), Temasek Poly (Male) and anudder skewl i forgot.. ahaha..

overall, the competition was ok.. but for the sec schs, its a good try for a first timer..

the top 3 winners were, in third position, Hai Sing Catholic Sch, second place, Temasek Poly (Male) and the champion is ITE Tampines..

went off to Kak Tea's wedding dinner afta dat.. when i saw the pelamin, i was rendered speechless.. it was fit for a king and queen.. everything was nicely decorated.. makes me wish i was there sitting on the pelamin.. hehehe..

btw, me & the gang were to be ushers for the nite.. started off being quite nervous but as we proceeded sending guests to the tables, it became quite fun!

when Kak Tea and groom came, all of us simply melted.. kak tea look so gorgeous in her white wedding gown.. we stood in awe until she reached her pelamin on stage (cos the wedding was held at a CC)..

and the other thing that swept me away was the powerpoint slides that showed kak tea and her groom's pics from young till the days where they dated.. it was sooooooo super-sweet! plus, the song that was played was From THis Moment by Shania Twain.. i nearly cried cos it was soooo romantic.. *sigh*

finally, after we ate, we managed to take pics wif the bride and groom.. me, meya and jannah left ard 10.30pm feeling worn out but extremely satisfied and happy.. but more is yet to come.. read on..

sweetheart came to fetch me at 12.40pm.. sorrie dear made u wait for me.. hehehe.. walked over to Kaki Bukit CC since it's quite near my house.. luckily, the weather was cooling.. otherwise, i'd be a mobile waterfall.. haha..

wana was already there when we arrived.. sat next to their table and waited for the TK clan to arrive.. jannah came next and after meya came, we went to queue for the food.. compliments to the food cos it's really finger-licking..

watched kak tea sanding fer a while b4 we left.. din managed to take pics wif her cos there's lots of other pple b4 us.. when we left, it was drizzling.. luckily, the bus stop was a few steps away from the main entrance..

parted with Maherah at Bedok Interchange after a nearly-embarrasing incident.. hahaha.. *winks at Meya* then, me and sweetheart went to watch Madagascar at Bedok Princess.. cute cartoon.. but could've been longer..

after that, dearest sent me home.. he din go home rite after that.. we watched The Hot Chick on preview channel.. it's my first time watching it and my comments?? LEPAK.. yup, that's the word to describe the movie.. hehehe..

and my lil bro was so sweet.. he prepared meals for us while me and dearest watched TV..

ok as for now, i'm starting to find quotations for wedding preparations.. so if anyone got lobang for mak andam/catering/deco/yada-yada.. pls feel free to inform me yeah? *winks*

wooooooooooooooohhhhhoooooooooooooo!!!

been a hell of a day.. work was quite relaxing today (weird isnt it?) since kak mas taught us how to use the new accounts system.. lepak-ed with kak alisa at the back while uncle sam and pak yaya learnt it.. we shud never learn anything with them.. takes ages and ages for them to catch up and by the tyme we move on, me and kak alisa were snoozing in our seats..

things only got betta! met my sweeties afta werk.. chilled at Lucky Plaza foodcourt for dinner and later, went off to Taka for sum stuff.. havent met them for ages and so, all barriers down!! cracked lame jokes all the way and laffed our head off.. haha.. well, dunno how to elaborate stuff so u can alwiz refer to nash's blog for da details.. *winks*

all in all, had loads of fun.. and b4 i end, just wanna say i mish my best fren, Haslina and also my dearest.. cant wait to cya guyz! *muackz*

the lesson for today is finding ur roots..

for the benefit of those who do not know me well, i will be sharing the origins of my ancestors wif you.. that is, if ur interested.. if u r, read on..

to start with, i will elaborate on my maternal side.. my great-grandfather (my granny's dad) was from Pakistan.. he came to Singapore to work and start a family.. as far as i noe, he only had my grandmother.. his wife passed on when my grandmother was still small..

my grandfather was a Javanese.. like my great-grandfather, he came to Singapore to find a living.. shortly after the WWII broke out, he married my grandmother to save her from the cruelty of the Japs.. they were blessed with 8 children..

now, for my paternal side.. my late grandmother was a Baweanese (did i spell it correctly??) i'm not too sure about her history bcos she passed on when i was around 7 and my dad had only recently unveiled stories bout my ancestors..

but what intrigued me most was the history of my late grandfather.. in all my 20 years, i thought his race was stated Malay.. but apparently, he originated from Indonesia and he travelled from one country to another before settling in Singapore.. and, he actually had a title in Indonesia.. tho his name was Hamzah, there, he was called Rama (sum title which i'm not sure myself)..

there's still alot to say bout this but i guess i just can't explain it in words.. i'm still in awe after what my dad told me.. we actually have relatives which we do not know.. it appears that my grandfather had another sibling, which he lost contact with.. my dad told me it's rumoured that he's living in m'sia now..

i dunno bout u, but i find all these very interesting.. it's like finding a big treasure.. imagine what would happen if we actually managed to find his brother.. there's simply so much to catch on with them and i'll be having more and more cousins.. *grinz*

but too bad, i think dat'll never happen.. hehehe.. dats bout all i have to say.. hope u had an interesting time reading as much as i had fun typing this entry!

phew~ finally, sum time to update my blog..

ferstly, a belated birthday to my future mother-in-law, which was on the 8th May.. so sweet to have ur birthday on Mother's day isn't it?

secondly, to those DK fans out there, there will be a Piala Khatulistiwa on the 28th May 2005 @ NgeeAnn Polytechnic.. tix are selling only at $6! if ur interested, do drop me a tag and i'll check the availability for you..

next, a special wish goes out to Kak Tea, who will be getting married on the 29th May 2005!! my well wishes for you kak tea!

last but not least, i'm procrastinating my resignation again.. maybe till the end of this month or next, i aint too sure.. i think i'll wait till i secure a job before the issue on resignation comes up..

and finally, today i get to meet my dearest.. *sigh* can't wait to meet you switheart!!
